Middlefield Dribbling Dribbling Fight in the air Game

Bergen Tech High School 'Knights'
2011 Team
About a year after I learned how to walk, I learned how to dribble a soccer ball and have been dribbling ever since. I love playing soccer, whether it is with my high school team, my club team or just an hour long game at the local park. From all my years of playing soccer, I have learned that in order to accomplish something, even to score a goal, one must work in part with a group. In addition, soccer has inherently contributed to my work ethic, as it taught me that one must work hard physically and mentally to be successful.

You may read more about our Knights team and see some game moments here (my number is 24.) One may see my soccer profile here.

Below is one of the our games fragments.

Late night practices, lasting three hours long, socks, cleats, and shin guard which all smell like something that came out the refrigerator three months expired, back to back games, tournaments in the middle of nowhere, gritting teeth sitting in an ice bath, hoping we don't turn into icicles, and thinking "Why am I doing this?" Why should I come to practice tomorrow? The only simple, clear-cut, straight to the point answer is - passion. Through the laughter, pain, tears, and good times, I live for this sport.
For over 12 years I have been playing soccer intensively for a variety of school and clubs, winning various trophies, medals, and even certificates. This strenuous sport involves very quick decision making which has evolved tremendously over my decade of playing time. This decision making ability has carried over into my academic prospects which has increased my ability to perform well in a myriad of subjects.

Here is our school team warm-up moment.

NJ Stallions
I find soccer interesting and amazing, especially the feeling I get when I score a goal or pass it to my teammates to do it. Playing soccer helps me to stay in shape, relax and to be confident when I have stress and frustration. For instance, after doing assignments or studying all day long for a test, I love going to the park or a recreation center and play ball. It revitalizes me, gives me more strength and energy for my studies next day. My passion grass stains on my freshly washed white shorts, continuously sprained ankles, black and blue bruises, endless hours of practices, time and commitment, all for what I live to do. It is my passion in life, my calming getaway when I'm having a stressful day, and the one thing that makes me feel as if I don't have a care in this world of chaos and confusion. From the good to the bad and from the bad to the worst, I love every bit of it.

Fort Lee All-Stars
I have always been a fast runner and my first coach Mark Sokolich (who is currently the Mayor of Fort Lee, NJ) used to complement my mother on my speed. Other soccer mothers used to ask her what she would feed me with, and since we just came to this country (barely 3 years ago), she would always reply with "kasha" - the Russian word for the American 'porridge'. Every soccer mom would then yell back, "Kashi?" and only until recently have I understood what Kashi really is.
I took great pride in my speed, ability and tactic planning. Since then, playing soccer is my favorite sport. It feels like I have just achieved something very important for the team and for my club. It makes me feel good and wakes a desire to work on my skills more to achieve better results.
